Pretty sure we can now add:

women earning more than men
how easy it is to be a stay at home mum
how men are attracted to dumb goodlooking women
educating women (who knows how this one went off the rails)

Have seen all of these bar 'how easy it is to be a stay at home mum' ...with 4 kids and a hubby who works overseas, I should probably avoid this one for reasons of sanity!

I'm also in the 'none of the above' camp. I like debating on here, because it's moderated well and I learn at least one new thing from most of the threads I read. My reaction to people who think certain topics should be banned is 'If you don't like the subject being discussed, don't read the thread'. It's that simple.

Why should other posters be silenced just because certain individuals aren't comfortable with the issue being addressed.

As Voltaire, considered one of the greatest minds in human history, said "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."

That's the way it should be. Men have debated vigorously for millenia. The foundation of civilisation is built upon the ideas that have been formulated, discussed and improved upon over time.

I don't think any topic should be banned.

Naturally; religion and politics evoke stronger emotions than many other topics....lighten up to all those zealots.

We are all adults here (supposedly), and should have the maturity to accept others' points of view and cop it on the chin when someone doesn't agree.

Public forums require a thick skin, and if you don't have that then you are asking for problems.

I think getting personal and attacking folk is not on though.

Everyone has a different threshold for this, of course; I and Dazz are possibly the two most subliminally sarcastic humour guys here, and often folks don't "get it".

It took me a few years to work out Dazz's (and others) humour, and often it is easy to misread a person's intentions over the keyboard.

You forgot about me BV.

Im a sarcastic SOB but most who dont like what I say never ever get "it".

Now Evand...well his profile photo reveals why he isnt here anymore.

Got it 100% wrong.

LOL!

I agree, dont ban anything except socialist alliance students "protesting" (assaulting).;)

The way I see it. Threads that are 'off-topic' remind us, most (I would like to hope all) forum members have interests outside of real estate and are well rounded 'relatively' healthy individuals.

Sometimes a heated discussion is the result of people being forced to step out from behind their little shelter.

Not discussing things, especially politics and religion simply breeds dogma, superstition and a whole lot of generally uneducated fools.
