Tradie for laundry chute.

Im trying to find a tradesmen who can design/build me a laundry chute.

The chute will have the drop off from upstairs to my laundry straight under the above room.

Its not a big job really but having trouble finding someone who does it.

My kitchen guys doesnt do them,
My builtin guy doesnt do them,
My gyprocker doesnt do them,

bla bla bla lol.

Is there any other companies/tradies who could help me?

You will need to guide them with baby steps.

First up you will need to find where your joists are. This is the wood that supports the floor and holds up the ceiling. It will have a piece of wood every 300mm. What this means is that you want to line up your chute to be between 2 joists so that you don't cut any and cause a structural problem.

Generally, if you locate it near a wall then you should be lined up for a clear drop.

You then need to decide what you are going to have on top of the hole, as in, what sort of cupboard or whatever which will represent the entrance to your chute.

You also need to decide what you are going to have in the room below to receive the clothes. Could be a laundry basket that simply catches the clothes or it could be a floor to ceiling cupboard with a dummy door at the top and a door at the floor level to allow access to the dirty clothes.

So really its 2 cupboards on with a hole in the bottom and one with a hole in the top. The only other thing you need to worry about is how to line the hole between the top and bottom cupboard. We lined ours with thin melamine.
