I've looked at a property that has a what has been described as a "rear deck". The "deck" has no roof covering so I've been looking at the council's website to find out if a building permit is required to construct a roof with laserlite over the "deck".
After reading various information on the council website I'm confused - they use terms such as:
"Unroofed verandah" but if it has a roof it is referred to as a "pergola"! And when is a deck a deck?
Can anyone explain what is the difference between a verandah, pergola and a deck?
Thanks
Sue
