Worth Insurance claim?

Hi Guys,

I've had a fence damaged in three places by drunk Saturday night vandals on an IP in Cobar. It is a colorbond fence on a main street. The tenant is keen for a stronger fence since this has happened many times. Are insurers likely to pay for a strong timber fence or just want to repair the current fence?

Insurers will only repair, or replace with similar. They won't upgrade it.

A wooden fence is a downgrade in terms of dollars if the whole fence were replaced.
Get the cash and do what you want with it

Are you saying the timber is cheaper than colorbond? I really, really doubt it and installation costs also higher

I just had two quotes for fences on the Sunshine Coast... Both turned out very similar - $68 and $70/metre for Colourbond; $60 and $62/metre for timber.
