Your Goals

My goal posts keep shifting as I'm exposed to more ideas, people and opportunities.

A decade ago I set a goal of earning $100,000 a year by 40 (from my job). I used to think that was a lot of income. It seems ridiculously conservative now.

This is what I said just over a year ago:

Have PPOR paid off and the option to retire by age 40

Now:

Short term I want to be "able" to retire before I'm 31. I won't stop working when I'm able to though.

Longer term, I aim to amass an 8-figure portfolio.

And before I cark it, I'd like to be able to use my wealth to positively affect the lives of a lot of people. And I do mean a lot.

Dave, better to party in your 20s and 30s. Even if you're in you're financially free in your 40s, you probably won't be bothered with partying. :p

I've observed that most people who reach financial independence quite young don't just stop and kick back. Whilst they have a great lifestyle, they still work very hard.

I didnt mean literally!
