Just for interest, and to round off this thread...

The average net assets on Somersoft from the 201 replies is $1,700,000*.

The average net assets of an Australian household is $563,000:

So you could say that the average Somersofter has 3 X the net assets of the average Australian household!

I know this wasn't the most precise research study, but an interesting result nonetheless.

ADD: The median net asset figure on Somersoft could be around the $750,000 mark.

*Calculated using the average figure for each poll category X number of respondents per category, and using 20MM for the last category.

very very interesting result - which also does mean that any opinions or comments do tend to come from a "non average household" perspective.
