anyone got experience with buying off the plan ?

We bought half way through building on a house in Victorie, it went horribly bad, we lost a lot of money because of the builder finishing the house very cheaply, in the process breaking a lot of building codes. We would NEVER do it again. Unless you know the builder is a very good one, be very...

We have done it now ...

I would have to find out definites from the REA and REIV on Monday morning. At this stage on the commission there has been no definites. Even saying, to loose a couple of thousand is a little to loose just to get out of this. Still having a chuckle, whilst telling the builder on how bad the...

We have done it now ...

Spoke to the builder for 45 minutes today and she has sent the deposit back to her solicitor to return to the real estate. The Builder is happy to release us from this house, however she now has another fight on her hands (which will begin once we get our deposit back) is that a) she slandered...

We have done it now ...

I thought about doing this, however the building inspector has said that there is no need to rush this, the house will always be on a lean well over the building standards and the problems are that major they will not be fixed overnight and if need be VCAT or Building commission will be called...

We have done it now ...

Come Monday if the builder doesn't voluntarlily pull out of the contract we will be delaying the settlement and we will be seeking further legal advice. I would dare say Monday they will delay settlement as they await their builders report Our building inspector is extremely cluey on who to...

We have done it now ...

We have stopped the funds, however as it is well after the 14 day period the contract is what is considered unconditional. Our only way out is having the building condemned under State Building Codes and exiting that way.

    Where is the logic?

On advertising a house in any context saying 'great home on big block' they babble on about the house and fail to put in how big the block in is? Happens too often to be a mistake or a case of I forgot :(:confused:

    How does this work?

Thanks Willair! The buyer range is $270k + buyers but REA has suggested $270 - $320k buyers The house was purchased by the current owners 50 years ago and are the original owners. As for propetry percentages of sold/passed in etc the last edition of the local newspaper RE pull out had listed...

    Developements and Easements

ok awesome! Got some good and some bad news Good news ... the easement is only 8ft (2.4mt) and not 3 mt (it is 3 mt wide but some of that is in the neighbours fence line) meaning that it gives us an extra mt to play around with Bad news ... the owners don't want to accept any offers and will...
