3 and 5 year fixed rate thread

Not sure if mentioned already but...

CBA have joined the party with 3YR fixed now 4.99%

Also still keeping 2YR fixed at 4.99%

ING also increased their variable discount offering..
5.23% for loan under $500,000 and 5.13% for loan over $500,000 ( 80% LVR)

Why doesn't HSBC offer offset accounts? This means I can't have split loans with a portion fixed and the balance at variable with offset.

They do offer offset accounts. Had a client with one last time. The only issue is they were charging her 1% higher than everyone else for the privilege :)

For new business to the bank.

2 year fixed: 4.59%
3 year fixed: 4.79%
5 year fixed: 5.09%

Never been one to fix but this is getting interesting.

SMH Article

What are HSBC like to deal with? Any disadvantages in switching to HSBC?

I notice that their "normal" rates are not as good as the big 4 but this could change if they want to become more competitive and increase their share which is only 1% of market.

4.59% is one almighty tempting offer!!!!
