A Minutes Silence..

Willair, I also acknowledge the importance of such an event. The impact of having a loved one considered to be missing in action, never knowing what happened to them is absolutely gut wrenching.

Right now I still feel very emotional about this because when I was a child, every christmas my Aunties sister spent christmas day with us, sitting by herself, no children or husband by her side because he was still considered missing in action, 1943-5. His plane went down over the pacific and was never recovered. Until her death, she never remarried because there was always hope he would return. How tragically sad that your life is spent waiting for your love one to come home. The importance of finding old fighter planes in the pacific region even today is so important because some war widows and children are still waiting for news, 60 years on.

I am so glad that the families of these two solidiers can have closure to their lives.
