All About Concrete

Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but here goes........

At www.concrete.net.au there is a pdf file for download that tells you ALL about conrete and concreting. Written for the layman with simple drawings and explanations. It's under "Concrete Basics"

I would have posted it here for you but the file is too big - 1.2mb.

Cheers

These are the specific articles about making a polished concrete benchtop..it seems simple in principle, but obviously takes time and skill.. i think i'll try a small vanity first..

The second article I found most helpful, it details some dude telling you how he did his first benchtops, and the mistakes he made etc..

Costwise obviously this is from canada, but he quotes he did it for about $500 for 23feet (around 6.9m) or around $19/foot compared to professional $75/foot. So less than a third the cost of professionally made..

There's also a forum on the site where professionals discuss the process.

It appeals to me because the look can be great..just like granite, but doing it yourself could save hundreds of dollars..

id have to agree there - its looks nothing like granite....

i like the look for modern warehouse style conversions
