Aussie investor with a U.S partner

Hi,

I am an Australian citizen & my partner is a U.S citizen. We are planning to purchase a property together in the U.S. I don't know my legal rights and the best way to make sure my joint investment with my partner is recognized legally.

A quick google search brought me this result.

It is just a response from answers.com, and I'd assume each State would have different requirements with regards to paperwork, etc but I'd say it's a yes.

We let foreigners own property here, after all.

Just make sure your name is on the title but be aware that if it is the sue happy yanks will go after you as well.

Just wondering if you could give some more details on how you plan to go about using a partner? I guess they are there to make financing easier, is this correct?
