the way i see it - if a trade or builder is unsatistifed about their pay as a trade or builder and can't see themselves earning less than X dollars per hour. maybe try a new career path or do something else worthwhile business wise rather than saying a builder should be earning x amount of dollars etc like being an accountant in the example above. there are also a lot of professions also have endless time wasting activities like being a real estate agent.

I agree...particularly when they are expected to work a split shift.

My relative was working pretty much from 10am until 11.30pm each work day as an "8 hour day". He had a couple of hours off in the afternoon, in theory, but if you are already at the restaurant, there is a lot of pressure to stay there and fill in that time with work.

Fortunately, he has found an alternative job this year... we are all very relieved, for both him and his young family.
