Classmate sues schoolgirl, 13, over tennis court mishap at private school

On a positive note, the accuracy and powerof her service is doing well with the tennis lessons, I'm presuming she was on the service line when "smashing" these balls to the baseline?

They may need a modified version of the below to continue lessons at the school?

Either that or commence playing tennis on the Wii

This reminds me of a good story my brother told at my mothers funeral..

Both my brother and my mum played competition tennis, in different teams, and at one stage, they ended up playing against each other. My brother underestimated my mothers competitive nature, having mainly watched her play ladies tennis.

So, he hit the ball and beat her comprehensively down the side line. A few balls later, mum was at the net, and she intercepted a volley, hitting it with precision into my brothers groin.

As they crossed at the end of the game, my mother leaned across to my brother and quietly said "I aimed for the left side... it hangs lower":eek:

Great story for a funeral... not sure what the minister thought though!!:)

Lucky she didnt get sued! ;)

Just more evidence that the PC experiment within society is a failure. There is a distinct lack of responsibility and an eagerness to cast blame & seek a damages payout.

Without any clear evidence of malice or intent to injure, this is just nancy state antics that are bordering on the absurd.

It is quite clear who sets the agenda in this country. LLBs.

Minimise liability, never admit liability, deflect all liabilities, seek maximum damages claims.....all standard practice for those who practise. LLBs. Our Juliar is a shining example of this, over and over again.

What is it with private schools, law suits and hyphenated surnames?

Delicious irony when noting what type of course she wished to study at Uni. You guessed it....LLB.

Abbott's an LLB isn't he?

Sorry, you should have realised by now. He is nearly a saint.

His budgie smugglers are the first miracle.

The fact he hasn't got athletes foot on his tongue from the amount of times he has put his foot in his mouth is the second.

He only needs one more :D

Surely there has to be more to it than this. I doubt any plaintiff or lawyer would be so stupid to run this based on the facts given.

It's going through VCAT so she may not have any legal advice maybe?

Just hilarious. Typical spoilt brat who thinks the world owes them a favour.

I had a few friends who didn't get marks to do law at Sydney. So, because they were resourceful, they did a BA for a semester/year and then transferred across. It's easy as pie.

That's why 90% of Arts students study Arts...to do law. Not sure why though - there's nothing special about having a LLB. Of course most of them don't get into law but that's a different story...

I did my undergrad in Arts

Then did post-grad in planning.

As with most uni degrees it is just about the paper at the end.

I think the biggest waste of space has to be a journalism degree - or as a friend of mine described it - it's a degree in how to marry a doctor/lawyer/banker

Looks like you fall into the 10% then :)

When I was in law school you'd meet the Arts students and all they'd talk about was law. I think it must be all the Law & Order and Boston Legal shows dramatising it. People would be far better off marrying a doctor rather than a lawyer imo, lawyers don't earn that much.

Yep. Same in my arts classes.

I did a second post grad course - MA in Environmental Law, but that was only for specialised Land and Environment Court stuff.

My sister in law is a bit annoyed when I mention my average week and was even more annoyed when she asked my salary (yeah, she's nosy). Turns out a planner with 10 years experience earns more than a lawyer. And works about 30 hours a week less :D
