Do you need to leave 10% deposit when making an offer in Victoria????

Hi All,

Please do not lose sight of the fact that the deposit I am talking about is at offer.........not exchange.

Paying a deposit of whatever size and whichever payment method that is negotiated between the 2 parties at exchange is all fine.

Being told by an Agent that I must pay a 10% deposit when MAKING AN OFFER, is complete bull and not on. As a purchaser I have no problem with leaving $500 to show that my offer is not firvalous.

Due to my inexperience I have been led up the garden path by an unscrupulous and dishonest agent. It won't happen again though.

Hey Captain,

Gotta watch that garden path. I believe it is common to be led to the pub by friends. Before you know it you're onto your 7th pint, home @ 6 in the mornin ready for another day in the ratrace !
