Evidence of subsidence/ floor not being level

Hi Guys/ Girls,

I just received my pest and building inspection report back and this statement concerned me:

"Evidence of subsidence/ floor not being level was noted. This is impacting on walls and doors not being plumb and level.A licenced and suitable Structural Engineer should be engage to investigate the cause of this defect"

Have many of you come across this? if so what were the results? IE Big $$ Job?

Location: Redbank Plains QLD 4301
Brick house on concrete slab

I have called an engineer (who lives close tho this house) and he said he will drive past. But I will most likely get him in to check it out.

John.

Either the slab has sunk due to natural swelling and shrinking of the soil beneath the house, variations in the soil or something in particular unique to that part of Ipswich...

Old mine shafts below causing subsidence (I hope not).
