Help a girl out

Hi everyone,

Can someone help a girl out and tell me what this is? I have asked a few people and no one can tell me (friends not pros). To me it looks like a vacuum maid fitting except it's the only one in the house and there are no other related units. I thought maybe it might be a gas fitting? Any help would be much appreciated!

It's a distraction from the stellar paint job and my serious answer, because I have already posted one sarcastic reply today, is that yes it does look like vacuum access.

The others may have been removed or never installed.

I'm 99% sure its a gas bayonet i should know as I'm a plumber

Gas bayonet, pretty popular here in the West, new regs some years back to ensure there is sufficient ventilation in the room the heater is used in, so it may be operable but possibly ought not be used.

this is the matching hose end for the portable unit: can be space heater or cooker
available all over IF you are crazy enough to use one, they are not very safe.

My best thought is a gasfitter to cap the pipe inside the wall, and replaster

Thanks for reposting the picture haha yes the paint job is horrific. Currently in the process of repainting over fluro lime green and fluro blue walls throughout the entire 3 bedroom house. Thanks for your help guys!
