How do you know if a property is in the flood area ?

Hi all,

I am looking to purchasing a IP in QLD. Maybe around Deception Bay area.

Due to recent flood in south east QLD, there are many properties are flooded and damaged.

I found it's hard to find one website or map very comprehensive or overall view.

How do we know if a property is in the flood area during the flood this year and couple of years ago?

is there a website showing the flood area or flood map ?

any one would like to shed some light on this ?

Generally the locale council will show on there plans where the flood zones are. It also tends to be listed on title.

In Brisbane City Council area, you can get a free flood report for any block in about 2 minutes.

im interested as to why you have chosen deception bay for a purchase? is it for ppor or investment?

The funny thing is Gladstone council has a great flood maps on their web site 1 in 100 year floods. The flood we just had was called a 1 in 2000 year. Begs the question is anything safe?

the floods in 2011 were the most significant but check a site called nearmaps as well (it's a paid site) but has aerial overview images
