I need a furnished 2 bed apartment Melb for 3 months

After 16 years in Perth ... I am moving back to Melbourne in early March and will need a 2 bed apartment in Docklands or Southbank for min 3 months... until I buy a permanent PPOR.

Does anyone have a place available or know of specialist prop managers who look after these kinds of properties?

I will be in Melb this Sat and have time to meet.

I just read the thread about Melb and the weather ... but I gotta say ... it certainly has grown up since I left back in 92 ... and after 16 years in the Perth sun ... my skin is a little thicker than when I left :)

Thanks Goanna ... I have checked out the realestate.com site and they don't have much.

I did register with the site you gave and will see what I get from that.

I might even get someone who wants a house sitter whilst they go OS to spend some of their IP equity LOL. :)

Hi there
just wondering if you checked sites like Wotif or Stayz - as they will often advertise the short term furnished accommodation you are after - and don't be afraid to try and negotiate the rates.
We have a property in Brisbane that was in a short term rental pool for a while - and often the managing agents (who knew we were after longer tenancies) would talk to us about the rates given approaches made to them.
thanks

I presume the ones listed were more than you would want to pay?

Agree with above comments. I would ring some of the agents and tell them wat you WOULD be happy to pay and see what they say. Nothing to lose!

Goanna ... the ones shown are not furnished ... I will pay up to $600 per week...

Thanks raddles ... will check them out also

A blow up mattress, a table, chair(s), pot, pan, set of utensils from the Salvo or Vinnies.... about all you need for 3 months isn't it? Might set you back $100 maybe? :D

Cheers,

The Y-man

You may want to check out a rental furniture package. PABS comes to mind; a Google on "Rental Furniture Melbourne" gives a lot of hits. It might broaden your scope and make it easier to find a place.
