Kit Homes - worth it?

I own a Storybook cottage and it is nearly 15 years old, love the house, hate the maintenance and other issues that come from owning one of these beautiful looking homes.
Would I go through the experience again, NO NO NO.

Hi Storybook Owner, I also love the look of these houses and am considering building with them - could you please elaborate on the maintenance and other issues with the house that you mentioned? I would love to hear how these houses age! thanks

It looks like you've got rising stone there, slowly eating its way up the weatherboard

has anyone else had any experiences with Storybook over the past year? I look at their website and it looks great, they have nailed the design side of things - just wonder if it is cheaper to design and build from scratch...presumably so?
