Kitchen Bargins Anyone

OK, I have been to Bunnings and was not impressed. With anything. Have been to Hardly Normal and they are so expensive. Anyone help out in Adelaide????? I like Ikea, but need advice on how to fit it all in......

Thanks for those tips Sunshine. I went to their website and I can't believe how much stuff they sell. We will definitely make the trip out there to pay them a visit.

Do you have any tips as to what materials we should look out for, for the kitchen cupboards? We want to rent out the townhouse in a couple of years, so we want something durable, however, with professionals as likely renters it also needs to look classy...

If you pick up an 'Ikea Kitchens' catalogue (separate to their main catalogue), at the back there is a 2-page fold-out, marked out in squares (1:20 scale), and little pop-out kitchen cupboard /stove/fridge/etc cut-outs (same scale). Just measure out your kitchen, mark the measurements on the large squared plan (marking in doors, windows, etc), and then you can have fun 'putting the cupboards in place' - just keep moving them around until you find a design that works and one that you like. Simple, but have found it to be very effective! Have fun!!

Hello,
I know I am here in the west but I have been looking at flat packs for ages...

firstly I downloaded a great tool which let me design the kitchen in 3 d so I could suss it out. It also gave me a quote of sorts from the manufacturer, as well as cutting lists, cupboard sizes etc. i used those lists to go to some other places. (naughty me). I then went to the Laminex showroom in Osbourne Park. I picked a miserable day so all staff standing around.

They helped me match colours and doors etc etc. They have a redikit range which you can either order from them yourself, or go through a building contact for wholesale prices.
Here are some handy links:
