MISSING GIRL - Can anyone help?

Hi All

I received this email today, can anyone help with this? Picture of this Missing Girl

Do you recognize this girl?

This little girl is at the Phuket Hospital in Thailand.

She does not remember her own name or anything! She has lost her
parents.

She must be of Western origin. She was a victim when she got caught in
the tidal wave disaster in Phuket, Thailand and nobody knows who she
is, so we are hoping if we distribute this email around the world
someone will know her.

Please don't break the chain, your contribution could be the one that
solves this little girls problem. Please forward this to all your contacts.

Someone might realize who she is.

She was actually found and returned to her relatives about 6 months ago:

According to a press release from the Hochtaunus (West Hessen) police department, the youngster pictured above is a German girl named Sophia Marleen Michl who was caught up in the Indian Ocean tsunami on 26 December 2004 and separated from her parents. She was initially treated at a hospital in Phuket, Thailand, and a few days later, after her identity had been determined, she was returned to Germany so she could receive additional medical treatment and be placed in the care of her relatives

It was apparently through an email similar to yours that she was identified and returned to Germany

Ok... thats "Auntie" Sharnee penciled in as a potential babysitter target for our little girl.

12 weeks to go and all is well. House is a mess but Nursery almost complete.

If you are a frequent visitor to the 'South East Asia Mainland Branch' then you may well have come across this request before. However from viewing the recent messages on the board, it seems like the majority of you are on your first trips in the Thai region.

Last year I spent 6 months travelling across S/E asia, Cambodia and Thailand in particular, and am familiar with the way of life over there and also the potantial dangers.

My brother who is also well travelled, decided in October 2004 that University life wasn't for him, and dropped out to travel again, realising that Uni life wasn't for him. He travelled to Cambodia and spent 3 weeks there, trying to clear his head. Throughout this period he was in contact with my mother and indicated that he would be taking a flight home to Bangkok on the 1st of November. Ed never arrived.

The e-mail that we recived was the last piece of evidence that suggested that Ed is alive and well. However, after 5/6 months of constant investigation, we have got links that might suggest that Ed in fact had crossed the border and has been seen in Bangkok. Obviasly this is huge news for us, and are keen for anybody that is in, or travelling in the region at the moment caould keep their eyes peeled, or if you belive to have seen Ed, then get in contact.

Ed has gone a special website dedicated to his disapearance. www.eddiegibson.net. PLEASE just take 5 mins to take a look at the story and the video, and if possible print the picture so that you have it with you while in Bangkok/Thailand.

Various members of my family and I have travelled to the region 4 - 5 times in search of Ed, so please help us by having a glance at the website.

There are contact details provided on the website reguarding possible sighting, however, do not hesitate to post a reply/ send a pm OR e-mail me on [email protected], even if this is for conformation or well wishing, it is useful for my family and I to get an idea of how many people get to see the topic before it 'dissapears'

A Google search on the email subject plus 'hoax' should give you an idea of whether it's a real need, out-of-date or a total hoax.
