Unfortunately JennD....there is no substantial business one can address that doesn't include politics. This involves people, and people have massively varying opinions depending on how they view the world.
No point scuttling away. One cannot run away from politics...it affects everything.
Over the thousands of threads on Somersoft, no-one, not once, has ever changed their ingoing opinion based on what they have read in the thread.....hence why they always always end up acrimonious....and always end up locked.
The Mods and Admin have already made a decision that the single biggest influence on every subject is not to be spoken about. Nothing more to be said. It always ends up bad, and hence it will always be locked up.
