Qld Properties Stamp Duty & rates?

Does anyone know the approximate answers to these questions? I don't know how to answer them, and I would be greatful for any responses.

1. What % is stamp duty when buying a property in QLD? Or where can I find out?

2. What are the approximate council rates for an average block in Brisbane?

3. What are the zoning classifications in the Brisbane area - and what do they mean?

4. What are the approximate council rates for an average block on the Gold Coast?

5. What are the approximate council rates for an average block on the Gold Coast Hinterland property? Are they cheaper than the Gold Coast?

6. What are the approximate council rates for an average block in Northern NSW (Tweed Coast - Tweed Heads area)?

7. What is the % of stamp duty to buy in Northern NSW (Tweed Coast - Tweed Heads area)?

JAM - on behalf of a good friend.

Gold Coast typical rates - per annum
70% of property owners pay the minimum rate
Typically - for suburban sized lot, with water and sewer $1392 - includes water rates
For Hinterland lots - say 1-2 acres, town water, no sewer $1050

THANKS for such a quick response !

I'm being a bit smarter and also checking the past posts for stamp duty etc.

Sometimes one can be dumb and ask a question before thinking.

Thanks again for the quick and valuable response.

Hi JAM

Go to the source www.osr.qld.gov.au - the Office of state revenue administers stamp duty in Qld (thieving buggers!)

For rates and zoning go to the relevant local area websites. eg brisbane city council home page etc...

Just a Mum,
The BCC rates vary a geat deal with us the low end properties are in the
$1200 per year while others we own are in the $2600 plus per year.
with the zoning classifications ring the BCC direct they will help you understand a textbook definition of whats required.
good luck
willair..
