What's the standard time for signing a exclusive sales authority agreement?

There is no standard. The agent will like a 3 or 4 month agency period.


However it is up to you - what you could do is find out how long a property takes to sell in your area - if it takes 40 days give the agent 2 month agreement.

treat all agents as dis reputable and be surprised and delighted if they're not. stick with the ones who protect your interests.

if an agent is good then they will not need an exclusive of more than 60 days. if you're price is realistic and the agent is good then they will need no more than 60 days to sell your property. after that if it still hasn't sold then they should be confident in their own abilities to not require an exclusive...
