removing lino from floorboards

hey all,

i have cork floor tiles in the kitchen and i have started to pull them up so i can see the hardwood floors but have seen there is lino or vinyl over the floorboards

its a 70's house but am reno-ing it

any suggestions how i how i go about removing it????

I think you want something like this:

Notice the blade on the front? It reciprocates and lifts lino and soft tiles.

Can get them from the likes of Kennards Hire, etc.

I used a heat gun and scraper prior to getting them sanded.

lino lifting..

Naive me used a paint scraper and boiling water to lift the glue...
It took a week.....
I dont suggest you try this,

i used a very sharp spade ... but still left enough glue behind to make the sanding a real bugger of a job (glue gumming up the sandpaper!)
