Rock Removal Cost

Hi Guys,

Family member looking to purchase land in Strathmore and build.
The contract has a special condition that says
"the property or parts of
the property may be filled and contain rock. In the
event that it does you will be responsible for payment of
removal. If you have concerns regarding this you can
discuss this with your builder immediately as they may be
able to carry out a soil test or confirm with you that you
will not incur these costs under the Building
Contract."

Obviously they'll need to get soil tests done to get an accurate cost but anyone has a ball park figure how much rock removals roughly cost? Thousands? Or can it go into tens of thousands?

Even a magician won't be able to conjure up a price - there may or may not be rock, who knows & how much?

A soil test in several locations (under the position of the house) will be warranted to determine the type of footings required, especially if there is fill. If it is fill, then the rock is likely to be floaters not solid rock.
