Seeking Legal Advice

More than happy to pay for someone to do something

Wont they?????
My experience is they will and do

Side note--Debt collectors do it all the time

Deadly serious

As I asked earlier Isn't legal aid only for healthcare card holders

More than happy to pay for someone to actually do something and not get run around
Want results not excuses

Sure pay Peanuts get peanut but pay Dollars and get Nothing???

Do you consider advice doing something? Or taking the time to sit there and listen to your story?

Legal aid is for people who 'cannot' afford to pay for their own legal advice or representation. It is usually for criminal matters, or family law. If you are wanting advice on whether your company has a case against xxx then they wouldn't be covered.

To apply for legal aid you have to fill in lots of forms like a loan application. Income and assets/liabilities must be disclosed.

You get what you pay for. Pay nothing, expect nothing. These are basic tenets of our society.

You are knaive china, Ive paid solicitors nothing and acheived alot, the other guy thought he could gain alot and pay little, but he ended up paying for 2 solicitors and court costs. Solicitors will take money of any-one they dont care who ends up paying, or what is right or wrong.

One more Question
Do solicitors and Debt Collectors have a Duty of Care
Is it legislated

Solicitors have a duty of care at the standard of a competent solicitor. If they are an accredited specialist they have a higher level of care.

That is a broad generalisation. I care about what is right and wrong and who pays.

Yeah solicitors are terrible,

until you need one; or

they do the job pro bono cause the client can't afford to pay;or

they make you a lot of money; or

they save you a lot of money.

Some solicitors are scumbags, most are not.

Some builders are scumbags, most are not.

etc etc etc

HI there
you asked if there was a duty of care for debt collectors and solicitors
the short answer is yes
You just have to read some of the discipline matters by the Legal Services Commissioner to know that is the case.
Debt collectors are regulated by commercial licensing arrangements - and do have legislation affecting how they can act.
Most solicitors are trying to do the right thing. If any are overcharging - you do have remedies.
thanks
