Selling house, pre-sale B&P inspection

I'm selling a house and the RE agent suggested I let a B&P inspection company come in at no cost to me and do a report that they can then sell to prospective buyers.

I had just started doing a reno but figured, yeah, why not let them in and do the report, do them a favour.

Well, they came around while I was still working on the property, did their inspection thing, and then tell me that they'll have to report that the painting is not completed, the security doors are not fitted, and other things are incomplete. I'll need to phone their office later to get the report updated when the work is completed.

The cheek!

My recommendation for others: only let the inspectors in AFTER you've completed all reno work.

I always recommend my clients to get their own independent B and P anyway. Also this is one of those things where it pays to get the best to do it and not some random guy/gal from the yellowpages.
