how good are the contractors from this website ?

I m looking to renovate my new small house
by putting in

* put in a drive way stencil concrete ( how much persqm?)
* put in a Carport + veranda at front and back

Any advices how i can make the house looks better ?
the house is pretty small i want to make it look bigger by adding veranda
at front and back + carport on the side of the house

Tman, used it quite extensively as of late.

Overall, far more positive experiences than bad. The bad were the typical non-returning of phone calls, no-shows. All the work that has been done through the contractors has been great.

You can submit feedback once you have used or interacted with a contractor, and I know when I was critical of one, he quickly followed up and went out of his way to rectify his tardiness. Service central do follow up with your complaints.

Biggest problem I found was with plumbers & electricians. Surprise!

Probably depends on the type of work you want to get done.

Hi Tman,

I used them to find a plumber, electrian, floor polisher and for a new kitchen. We're on the northern beaches in Sydney and the reponse was almost instantaneous. In the end we only used the Floor polisher and he travelled from the other side of Sydney. The other trades were all ok but didn't suit us at the time.

All in all it was pretty good, it's nice having them call you for a change.

I find tradesmen in the local paper.
Why pay someone a commission to look in the paper for me?

Maybe a bit of topic.. but if you've got some labour work that needs doing on the cheap I can recommend going to a hostel and getting some backpackers to do a bit of digging, lifting etc.. usually they're happy to help for a few free beers
