I've seen a number of those tactics attempted to be used on me only to fail, much to the disappointment of the real estate agent who sold my property (it took a while, but in the end I got exactly what I wanted).

I find that if you do your homework, know what you want and stand your ground, you'll never get taken for a ride by a real estate agent.
