They are consenting adults. Perhaps you might feel differently when you are 72 and some young hunk hits on you?
In any case, it's unlikely that the baby will be hers, biologically speaking. She is, after all, very old and harvesting ova from her may be all but impossible.
I read she was going to pay USD $ 54K for a surrogate mother to bear the child ??
Maybe they just hold hands....
And the reason they're paying for a surrogate is because she's an old lady who has more than likely hit menopause, 20 years earlier!!!!! *Insert Puke Smiley Here*
Personally, I think the whole sperm/egg bank thing is just disgusting. How many kids are out there all related to each other and not know it? Is just wrong, and having kids at that sort of age men or women is pure selfish.
Ewww this is wrong on so many levels. The article doesn't seem to say if the child will be biologically hers or not. I didn't think a 72 year old woman even produces eggs at that age so most likely they will use another woman's eggs?
Here you go Lil - vomit smiley.
I think sperm/eggs banks are perfectly fine in certain situations. Like if a couple cannot have a baby, as in man cannot produce or woman cannot have kids due to a medical condition.
Not if there's no record of whose it is, and a man is able to make countless donations, potentially resulting in 100 or more children who don't know each other! I think there should be tighter control on it and the identity of the donor should be made so you don't end up with a heap of children inter-breeding with each other, not to mention for medical reasons the child might need to know who the biological parent is.
