What should I pay for a soil test

What should I pay for a soil test in Brisbane and elsewhere.
Is it a standard test or can i get a variety depending on the structure?

Redsquash,
The type of soil can have an impact on your building costs when you decide to develop a site.
I don't believe that it's necessary if you are simply buing an IP.
I believe I paid $1000 a couple of years back through my builder.

Our engineer has a set fee for many of his reports; his process is the same for a soil test no matter what the soil type. You may however pay more for the Footing Design and Footing Drawings if your soil is more reactive.

As a guide only (we're in NW Vic)
Soil report $460 + GST, Footing Design $420 + GST, Footing Drawings $310 + GST. Disbursements are usually around $60 + GST. Turnaround is usually about 2 weeks.

Not suggesting the prices will be comparable to an area like yours but you can use the info to ensure that all information you need is included in any price you get. The info above is all the information needed to submit with plans.
