Like some others I tolerate (barely) my MIL.
She's a horror. I'm lucky enough that she lives about 9 hours away and doesn't like to visit Sydney because she 'has no reason' (the fact that her only son lives here doesn't even enter her head).
She is selfish and abusive and doesn't acknowledge the experiences my hubby had when he was growing up. She just denies, denies, denies. I'm lucky that I only have to tolerate her once or twice a year. 2014 was a good year as she was banned from our house so didn't visit at all. I only had to manage the effects of a few phone calls.
