WOW!!! Is this interesting or what...??

Gotchya...

A clever thread topic title pulls many views but more interesting is the amount of replies.

For example

"are you a millionaire" had 2057 views on a poll - WOW!
"sydney picnic" had 2179 views - WOW WE!
"no int% rises rest of 2004" 757 views.

One could easily form a profile of what interests or for that matter concerns the forum users by the amount of views and replies made to a thread.

As with marketing, a clever catch phrase when advertising one's property for rent or even for sale can attract prospects like bees to honey. Sure, out of the tens that enquire, we know you only need one that ends up signing the lease or contract of sale.

And oh yeh, it's nothing to do with being deceiptful, just that everyone has different tastes.

A great forum!!!

Don't forget that a thread that has a high number of replies will also have a high number of views, since people will be viewing that thread frequently as new posts are added.

Yeah - there's a substantial difference between views & unique users......it took advertisers on the web a number of years to catch on & work out how few people they were actually reaching for the dollars they paid :)

Is that something that the upgrade will address. It should be stats like:

1800 views, 340 unique.

I don't think there is any facility to track which users have viewed a thread. It is impossible to effectively track anonymous users anyway, so the measurement will not be terribly accurate which ever way you do it.
