Yulin Dog Meat Festival. What do you think?

For starters, those dogs in the boiling water are clearly dead. There is no way any animal could withstand the practice of being skinned alive. There's just no way. Also, the blowtorch picture, it is possible the dog was alive, but highly unlikely.
They were just being very co operative after being offered a free Schmackos

Girl distraught as missing pet dog 'Flower' turns up cooked on roadside food stall

A photo purportedly showing a Vietnamese girl in tears beside her pet dog, which had been slaughtered, roasted and put out for sale at a street-food stall, has gone viral on social media and raised ethical questions about the trade in dog-meat.

The People's Daily, a Chinese newspaper, reported on Saturday that the little girl's dog had wandered off a few days earlier, and when she stumbled across the pet at a local dog-meat stand, cries of "That's Flower!" could be heard.

The newspaper said Taiwanese ETTV Television Network had reported that the photo was taken in the countryside in north Vietnam, but the time, exact place and girl's identity could not be confirmed.

The photo, showing the distraught girl crouching down with one hand on the deceased dog's back, has captured the hearts of people around the world.

Warning:

.

People's pets are taken all the time for the purpose of cooking. One woman in China lost her cat, only to find a online video of her next door neighbour doing a cooking demonstration using the pet cat as the meat.

It's horrible and the sooner the Chinese and other Asian governments ban the cooking of dog and cat meat, the better.

Love my doggies so much, this just hurts, thinking of this post today, my way of dealing with this is giving more love to my doggies.

No!!!!! My pet oyster!!!!!

lol - I had one, then one day a mantis shrimp smashed a hole thru the shell and ate it. unbelievable things those mantis. amazingly enough I caught the mantis with a pyrex measuring jug, was worried it would smash that too.

I heard of a girl in Victoria (Australia) who lost her pet lamb. After it strayed onto a nearby farm, the farmer killed and butchered it for food. Apparently the govt also does live exports of these animals. And we're talking about Australia which is meant to be a relatively civilized country.

yes

have a read about these amazing animals....

"now sometimes referred to as "thumb splitters" ? because of the animal's ability to inflict painful gashes if handled incautiously"

" some larger species are capable of breaking through aquarium glass with a single strike."

" In smashers, these two weapons are employed with blinding quickness, with an acceleration of 10,400 g (102,000 m/s2 or 335,000 ft/s2) and speeds of 23 m/s from a standing start.[9] Because they strike so rapidly, they generate cavitation bubbles between the appendage and the striking surface.[9] The collapse of these cavitation bubbles produces measurable forces on their prey in addition to the instantaneous forces of 1,500 newtons that are caused by the impact of the appendage against the striking surface, which means that the prey is hit twice by a single strike; first by the claw and then by the collapsing cavitation bubbles that immediately follow.[10] Even if the initial strike misses the prey, the resulting shock wave can be enough to stun or kill the prey."

It was on the internet, so it must be true! This crap and the linked story are nothing but outrage porn.

Are you a vegetarian/vegan?

my mate had a property that was tenanted that he also stocked with a special breed of lamb. unbeknownst to my mate, the tenant slaughtered and ate all of them.left blood and guts everywhere and took off without paying the rent (nothing new there I guess)
