changing a home into a home office/commercial?

I am curious to know when changing a home into a home office for rental such as the list below, are there any hurdles that need to resolved? House in on a busy intersection in a suburb 12 km from the CBD.

- Dentistry
- Medical clinic
- Acupuncture
- office for accountant etc
- Physio
 
If it not a so called home based business (the operator lives there) I believe you neeed to be zoned correctly as a first step.

If your place is zoned by council for these purposes, then all you have to do is apply(a DA), and COMPLY with carpark spaces, access, sealed areas, landscaping, etc etc.
Very worthwhile idea I reckon. I would definitely look at it.
Just one more way to add value.

BTW the council website will tell you all you need to know. Make sure you have 3 or 4 hours spare to look at it and understand it.:eek:
