Council minimum width for dual occupancy/subdivision

Canterbury council has a 15m minimum width for dual occupancy & subdivision.

I'm looking at a large block that is narrower then this- it has a side driveway for access & plenty of space for a second house but the block fails the width requirement of the DCP.

Any ideas on how I could fight this? Other similar blocks in the area have down it under previous planning controls (in the '90's).

I'm also looking into a dual occupancy development within the Canterbury Council and find some of the wording in the DCP to be unclear.

Would your property meet the 300m2 per block minimum?

My property meets the 15m minimum width but it appears hazey as to whether they allow side access to a detached property at the rear.

Interested to hear how you go.

Goodluck!

Yes, mine would meet the 300m2 per block.
