Hi everybody, just have a quick question about building a driveway over sewer inspection shafts.
The shaft on our property is a cast iron one which flares at the top slightly, covered by a cast iron plate; it sits around 25-cm above the driveway level.
Is it possible (with approval of relevant water authority) to cut away at this shaft to bring it in line with the driveway level? The goal here is to have a driveway right up against the rear property boundary when subdividing. The property is currently free of any encumbrances.
Common sense says yes, but maybe you more seasoned investors can confirm?
