floor plan software

does anyone know what software is often used by the Real estate agents for drawing the floor plans int he brochures they hand out?

depends on the RA

i am a draftsman and often do floor plans for RA's, I use AutoCad, but there are many simpler programs around

Looking to do a floor plan - is there simple and free software ?

Will then want to move furniture etc around.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Thanks Wanderer !

Roomsketcher was the type of tool I was looking for.

Something simple - but has some really good features if you want to spend the time on it.

Was able to get to this pretty quickly.

Yes it is.

They are displayed on the screen - but don't seem to have copied across - when I save to file they are not there.

The software is pretty good in terms of playing around with floor coverings, tiles, paints, furniture etc and then doing a 3D walk through.

But then again - I'm easily impressed by that stuff.

The video tutorials made things much easier - I looked at Google Sketch for a few minutes but the tutorial with Roomsketcher made it look easier.

There are versions you pay for - so they probably hold stuff back for that.

They give you the "Pro" features for free for the first 8 hours only.

I suspect we will be upgrading as we get a little more into things.

Hi Jane - it was for you actually !

The pen and ruler came into play after the basic plan was done.

Mailed yesterday with the photos etc - so hopefully you get it soon.
