OnTheHouse (very useful site, shows multiple past sales results for properties in any suburb)
http://www.onthehouse.com.au/

I've been using this site a fair bit recently and find it really annoying how you can't make the map any bigger. I wish the map would stretch to my screen size when I maximize the browser window.

Other than that it's great.

Just today I saw this house listed for sale:

http://www.domain.com.au/Public/PropertyDetails.aspx?adid=2007757556

Nothing about the ad suggests it's a desperate vendor after an urgent sale, however after checking onthehouse.com.au I saw that they only just bought the house 2 months ago. So I'm thinking maybe they bought it and then realised they couldn't make the payments on it? It was bought for $7,150,000 on 19/06/2009.

Currently owned by Virgin Blue co-founder, Rob Sherrard:confused:

Is that information freely available on one of the sites listed above? Or did you find out through other means?

Edit: After a bit of digging I found an article from 15th May 2009, saying he currently owns it. So I guess he's the one who sold it for $7.15m to the now current owners on 19th June.

This is strange, the ad has been updated to claim it was sold for the exact same price as onthehouse mentioned, but a different date.

SOLD - $7,150,000
Sale Type:
Auction
Sale Date:
SEP 09

If it's for real, how can an auction achieve a result that coincidental?

Historical Median Suburb prices

Hi,

Does someone know where I can find 10 or 15 year old Historical Suburb Median price data? Thanks in advance.

Sam

Thanks John. The information I am looking for might be available at PriceFinder but will need to subscribe to find out for $255/month. RP Data suburb profile does contain a chart of historical values for 10 years but there are no values printed for each of the bars, so interpretation is difficult and inaccurate.

I didn't think finding median house price vales for different suburbs for last 15 years would be a difficult data to find.
