acrylic alternative

have recently installed acrylic alternative to glass bricks. About half the price. Look great! Assembled under license in Aus by company in Queensland.
We got ours through Trend Windows in Vic. Brand name Hy Lite

Cannot speak for durability yet but light and just like a window. Suits our purpose.

The post I quoted above is from a thread to do with glass vs acrylic bricks. to quote Acey
So...glass is better for a reno/hold and acrylic is better for a reno/trade then
Mention is also made of a glass brickproduct which interlocks, requring no mortar.

Hi

Your list seemed to indicate to me that the glass bricks would be installed in an outside window. Fair enough.

Some time ago I had glass bricks installed professionally by block layers in an inside flight of stairs in a three story commercial building. They looked great, let in tons of light and everyone liked them.

The Fire Brigade made a regular inspection and despite concrete all around, and nothing flammable, they issued an order to remove them as not being two hour fire resistant.

Out they went.
