HELP!!! Tree in backyard collapsed

Hi ALL

Just got a call from the tenant that a 'big' tree in the backyard just collapsed and fell on the fence of the house at the rear..

What should be done now and what happen next? as you can see from my posting numbers I am still new to all these fun:(

Hope it wont happen to ur IPs...............

Precisely why some people should not invest.

1. you can leave it there to rot

2. call a treelopper to cut and remove

3. sell up immediately with the tree left where it is on the ground.

4. Auction the home on somersoft.

With the deepest respect how do people like you survive in this world?

These sort of things are lower than basic if owning any home.........pull out the phone book, look up treeloppers, call them, get quotes or get a friend to do the job, so damm simple...oh! and give notice to the tenant in writing that you intend to have someone enter the property to remove it.

Call your PM or go there to check the damage - in the first instance asses if it affects the liveability for tenants (i.e. Urgent or not - I assume it is not by the sounds of it)

Check with your insurance - see if it is covered, and excess etc.

Get quotes to see if it worthwhile claiming.

Get it fixed - get a receipt - it's a repair for your tax return.

The Y-man
