B bashworth 18th Nov, 2014 #2 Its normally 1.5m from the centre of the sewer. It doesn't matter about the connections. The other issue to be aware of is keeping the foundations below the zone of influence (see http://www.anewhouse.com.au/2012/01/building-on-pipeline-easements-or-close-to/) this means if the sewer is deep you will be up for additional foundation cost.
