i agree, I dont get why a lot of paretns their number one priority in choosing a place to live has to have a backyard,agree.

All you need to do is look overseas at more much more established cities, and see what's happened to its traditionally blue chip suburbs, and what's happened with the gentrified ones, and what's happened with the less desirable areas, over a 25 year period.
London is an easy one to analyse. So is New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
7 mins to get 3 kids to school, then back track a little and 13 to work.
13-17 mins home tops.
i had 6 minutes on the train (3 stops) or 16mins on my bicycle in my last job [sigh].
some days i work from my couch.
I would say that including a stop at the coffee machine it would be a 100 second commute.
