Witnessed some beautiful art deco architecture whilst on holiday in New Zealand north island at the town of Napier (along east coast).
The town had a major catastrophe in 1932 with earthquake which basically decimated the town buildings and they had to restart from scratch and art deco was all the rage at the time! The land rose some 2 metres and the town got themselves a flat stretch of land which is now the local airport!
