Voucher / Gift Idea

Hi,

I have a subcontractor that's done a lot for my company and I am wondering what I can / should give him as a bonus. He sort of hinted a voucher from the centrepoint restaurant in sydney for his family.... but I am open to other ideas.

Also how do I get this voucher?

Next question, is this a legitimate tax deductible expense for my company? How would I "justify" it etc.

I've been in a similar situation. In the past I've received Myer gift vouchers, I've taken the wife to dinner, paid on the card, given receipt to boss who has paid me for it. Not sure how it works at the company end, tax wise.

I don't know about tax deductions but a card with cash always blows people's mind!

But if he said he would like to go to that restaruant then I suppose that is what he would like. It just occurs to me that people are sometimes caught on the hop and go away and think about it and realise they would like to spend the money on 'blah' instead. Or maybe that is just me.....
