Water rates, SA Water

Hello,

I just bought another investment property had it 2 - 3 weeks now I have been sent a bill from SA Water from 14/02/14 - 30/04/14 I didn't even own the house then..

Yep just did all sorted the conveyance paid it, why send me the bill then

I had the same thing happen to me on a place I bought at the end of last year. It turned out the vendor's conveyancer failed to pay the amount owing, up until settlement, which should have been done upon settlement.

I got my conveyancer to work it out with the vendor's conveyancer, and eventually got paid the outstanding amount. I'd recommend you do the get in touch with your conveyancer as well, in the first instance.

EDIT you got in before me, double-check with SAWater. The bill may have been printed before payment was received.

I've had this happen a few times, SA Waters system must be automated, even if the conveyancer has already paid the bill.
