Hi all,
I'm renovating my pool at the moment, (PPOR).
It has terracotta coping tiles that look as though they have never been sealed.
I scrubbed them with Pascol acid etcher/degreaser and painted them with a clear gloss sealer from Bondall, "Wetlook Sealer" for unglazed terracotta tiles.
First coat went on great and looked superb. I waited 2 hours as per the tin and brushed on a second coat. They looked great....for about 24 hours, then random ones started to go white inpalces. See attached photo.
It looks a mess and looks worse then before I sealed them as at least they were all uniformaally dull then.
Yesterday I sanded back a couple of bad ones and started again. Got exactly the same result, in the same area on the tile.
Any ideas on what the problem is and how I can rectify (short of sand them all back and paint them which I'm loathed to do as I'd rather the natural terracotta look than a painted tiled edge.
Cheers.
