Depends on your own situation. Do you think you'll need to store lots of music and photos? I have a 16 gig and it's plenty for me.

and is ipad 2 really much better than ipad 1 besides that you can take and play videos on it.

I've never used the first generation but friends that have used my iPad2 have commented on how much quicker it is.
