Carb-Nite Solution

Hi Maxwell,

Fair enough if it doesn't fit in with your 'branch chains'.

I use both products myself, that's why i recommended you look it up.

Cheers spades.

I went from 134kg down to 90kg over a year sticking to the Atkins diet. Once I got down I swapped to healthy eating and exercise. This was about 6 or 7 years ago. I actually started back on it 2 days ago as my months stint in the states recently put on 4 kgs!!

Just for reference here in Australia the carb value on the packing already takes into account the fibre deduction.

cheers

Max,

Why aren't you training?
If you are getting leaner without training, you must be dropping weight, including some muscle mass.
Didn't you want to increase your lean muscle mass?

Thanks Kurnol. I wasn't aware of that.

Luckily for me, nearly all of my food is fresh so there hasn't been any unplanned carb binges.

Ace,

You're right. I wanted to increase my muscle mass.

I have had a busy social life recently and haven't been as dedicated as I needed to be. I know - Winge, winge, winge.

All good, Im about to go for a pump now. Ill weigh-in and grab a pic.

Summer holidays are soon. Ill remind the team and see if I can rekindle their fires..

Had my first session yesterday after about about 3 weeks off.

Pretty happy with my weight. I'm only 3kg lighter.

I think that I have lost a little bit of size in the shoulders, but, my stomach has become leaner. All good.

... My legs are still tiny.

I'm out.
Was on this diet for about 4 weeks but stopped after checking blood pressure.
It was 160/90 tested multiple times.
That's high and I'm not unfit or overweight.
If I went to a doctor he/she would have put me on meds right away.
Anyway, went back to a normal diet, threw in a few cardio sessions and blood pressure down to 120/80, which I think is normal.
This only took 1 week.

Give me carbs over fat any day...
Maybe certain diets are only compatible with certain people.
Surely different genetics have different tolerances.

Maxwell, have you checked your BP lately?

No I have not had my blood pressure checked lately.

I still feel absolutely fantastic.

Medical evidence says that the a low-carb diet lowers blood pressure, so im unsure why your BP ^.

I believe there are other confounding factors.

Hey Max,
Might have been mentioned earlier in the thread but I only noticed your screenshots from your carbless days. I would be interested to see what your carb up meals/days look like?

Yes, I am back using Duck fat in combination with grassfed butter and coconut oil. Ghee also.

I only recommenced adhering to the diet guidelines 25 days ago.

Prior to then I had been primarily cyclic low carb but not as restrictive with my portion sizes.

The past 25 days I have been attempting to follow the guidelines for larger people with the aim of retaining more strength.

Ill wind my intake back toward what is recommended for smaller people over the next few weeks and report back.

Hi D.T - My carb nights?

Usually a 4-6hr window after 6pm where I have 3 meals.

Meal 1 - White potatoes. Meal 2 - White potatoes. Meal 3 - White potatoes and a steak. I also eat ice cream, chocolate and other desserts throughout the night.

The ice cream, chocolate and other desserts are less effective than white potatoes but I have them anyway, purely as a treat. When sick of potatoes, I use white rice.

Ive attached a pic from today and a very useful pdf which ranks foods by the insulinotropic factor.

I havent read the whole thread, but your fat loss control is very good, well done,

whats your rough diet, training schedule to get into the single figure BF?

Cheers.

Diet = Cyclic ultra low-carb.

I have found that if I lower my protein intake to circa my body weight (83kg),and source the remainder of my energy from fat, results come very fast.

Training = Wendler 531.
